Adéle, the designer of Vodabox, started the whole concept in august 2000 by delivering small custom made clothing quantities to shops in Sweden. As a result of the great response from customers, Adéle and her sister Noémi (the designer of Nubia) decided to open their own shop in Malmoe by 2001. At the same time Nubia as a separate brand was born.
Vodabox and Nubia are manufactured within Europe under fair trade conditions, which both brands consider an important issue. Though sometimes hard to live up to for larger brands, Vodabox and Nubia differ. The clothes aren’t mass produced in large factory lines, things like working conditions and salaries can be kept a closer watch upon. This also gives you, as a customer, a more long lasting quality where the product is made out of honest concern.
